Lake Wingra Beach
The beach at Lake Wingra is the most popular in Madison. Yet last year, it had a large number of days closed due to high bacterial counts.
The cause is most likely too many Canada Geese lounging about the park.
The Friends of LakeWingra, with the help of funds from the Arboretum Co Housing fundraiser, will be experimenting with a fountain, to filter water naturally in the beach area.
